2nd Congressional District Election News
Rumors persist that Jean Schmidt will have a primary challenge on May 2, 2006.
Although no announcements have been made, Tom Brinkman, Paul Hall, or Bob McEwen are the most likely challengers.
I don't know what Tom Brinkman's plans are, if any, but he has been seen at meetings and events throughout the District.
The most recent "Brinkman sighting" was at the Brown County GOP picnic on September 11, 2005.

Gubernatorial Election News
Ken Blackwell, Betty Montgomery, and Jim Petro remain the three candidates.
Phil Heimlich is with Jim Petro and remains the only named candidate for Lt. Governor.

U.S. Senate Election News
Retired USAF Lt.Col. John Mitchel and Bill Pierce are challenging Senator Mike DeWine.

Secretary of State Election News
Ann Womer Benjamin, Greg Hartmann, and Jim Trakas are the candidates.
Rob Montgomery was also mentioned.

State Auditor Election News
Mary Taylor and David Varda remain the only candidates.

Attorney General Election News
Ron O'Brien, David Yost, and Tim Grendell appear to be candidates.

For more information about John Hritz, contact Mike McNamara, Campaign Manager, at 513-378-2716.

6th Congressional District Election News
Danny Harmon, Chuck Blasdel, and Richard Holt have been campaigning.
Also, Tim Ginter, a registered Democrat, is running as a Republican.
I spoke to Tim about why he is a registered Democrat.
He had a good answer. (Call him at 330-692-0544.)
Tim impressed me as being a very solid conservative and strong Christian.
It appears that the voters have several very good candidates to choose from.

88th Ohio House District Election News
Paul Hall is considering challenging Danny Bubp.

 Elect

Michelle E. Jowers

Pike Township Trustee

The main purpose of a Township Trustee is to serve the people of the Township.  I have a "Call to Serve".  To that call I bring leadership, energy, initiative and a desire to work with other Trustees and constituents of Pike Township to make decisions that are essential to improve and maintain our township.  I have the passion necessary to make a difference.  I will make a difference one step at a time and would like to become Trustee of Pike Township, Brown County, Ohio.

"Your Township « Your Voice « Your Vote"

His new phone number is: 614-222-8490.

The crowd of about 25 people warmly received the very conservative Democrat.

Mr. Rhodes talked about web site updates, property re-evaluations, and an initiative to measure and control fuel quality.
He also fielded a number of questions.

August 25, 2005
Nearly 500 people attended a luncheon for the Ohio Restoration Project at the Kings Inn in Mason.
Jeff Harden, Curt Hartman, Jean Schmidt, and Joe Uecker represented Clermont County.
Michelle Jowers and Tina Meranda represented Brown County.
Danny Bubp represented Adams County.
Tom Brinkman sponsored my table.
I sat with Greg Hartmann, Beth Hill, and Paula Westwood.

My favorite guest writer, Lori Viars, provided the following:
Ohio Restoration Project hosted a Pastors & Christian Leaders Luncheon on Aug 25. Over 500 guests filled Kings Island Inn's Conference Center, including reporters from Time Magazine, Newsweek, USA Today, AP, as well as state and local media. Speakers included Pastor Russell Johnson, Sr. Pastor of Fairfield Christian Church in Lancaster, who hosted the luncheon, Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell, former Congressman Bob McEwen, and Fr. John Putka. The group favors protecting unborn human life, protecting marriage, school choice, and other issues that effect families. Reaching out to the community and non-partisan voter registration drives are also strongly encouraged. The group's motto is "Pray, serve, engage." "We do not, as a group, endorse candidates," Pastor Johnson said. "That said, we are very appreciative of Ken Blackwell's principled stand on marriage. He didn't need a focus group. He didn't need a poll. He stood up. We need someone with the conviction to lead.
August 22, 2005
Governor Taft and ORP Chairman Bob Bennett held a brief conference call.
"Coingate" and how the Democrats are playing politics were discussed.
