Ohio Restoration Project hosted a Pastors & Christian Leaders Luncheon on Aug 25. Over 500 guests filled Kings Island Inn's Conference Center, including reporters from Time Magazine, Newsweek, USA Today, AP, as well as state and local media. Speakers included Pastor Russell Johnson, Sr. Pastor of Fairfield Christian Church in Lancaster, who hosted the luncheon, Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell, former Congressman Bob McEwen, and Fr. John Putka. The group favors protecting unborn human life, protecting marriage, school choice, and other issues that effect families. Reaching out to the community and non-partisan voter registration drives are also strongly encouraged. The group's motto is "Pray, serve, engage." "We do not, as a group, endorse candidates," Pastor Johnson said. "That said, we are very appreciative of Ken Blackwell's principled stand on marriage. He didn't need a focus group. He didn't need a poll. He stood up. We need someone with the conviction to lead.August 22, 2005
