If I
have their e-mail addresses, all names mentioned get copied on these
communications.
I hope
you all like the new format of this newsletter.
Sometimes
HTML can get a little messy when translated between e-mail clients (programs).
Therefore,
what you are viewing may not be as clean as what I have sent.
If you
prefer, I could send this as a Microsoft Word document or both.
My
concern is that all of you may not have Microsoft Word.
If I
get real ambitious, I might use Adobe to create a PDF file.
Another
option would be to publish this newsletter on my web site: http://home.fuse.net/JBecker
Let me
know what your preference is.
Now
for business:
My
first meeting in Columbus will be on April 7.
I will
also be there on April 6 for a new members orientation.
Two
people have sent me letters soliciting my support for them to be on the
Republican National Committee (RNC).
JoAnn
Davidson wants to replace Martha Moore who is stepping down from the RNC.
Mike
Colley wants to get re-elected to the RNC. It will be his last term.
I
don’t know if either candidate has opposition.
I
would like your opinion. Should I support either, neither, or both candidates?
(Feel free to call to discuss.)
I met
with Joe Deters, Ohio State Treasurer, last week.
He
brought Matt Davis, Southwestern Ohio Regional Representative, and Bill
Ranaghan, Special Assistant to the Treasurer, with him.
Mr.
Deters intends to run for Attorney General in 2006.
He has
served Ohio well as Treasurer.
I have
a favorable opinion of Mr. Deters and intend to support him for that position.
Again,
please give me your opinion pro or con.
About
40 other people and I attended a Bush/Cheney training session Saturday.
Connie
Bare, Clermont County Coordinator, chaired the meeting.
Brent
Sanders, Southwest Ohio Field Director, was the primary presenter.
The
meeting was fun and informative.
New
voter registration seemed to be a primary theme of the meeting.
As you
all know, Ohio is a major battleground state for the White House.
The
President must win Ohio to be re-elected.
Much
of the focus will be on grass roots organizing and knocking on doors.
Far
too much is at stake to not take this very seriously.
Finally,
it appears that congratulations are in order for Tom Niehaus.
Mr.
Niehaus has won by 26 votes (pending recount) and will likely be our next
State Senator.
He can
count on my full support for the November election.
