Past Events
October 26, 2007
Danny Bubp and Joe Uecker hosted a joint fundraiser at Eastgate Receptions.
About 100 people enjoyed keynote speakers: John Kasich and Jon Husted.
Once again, Mr. Kasich gave a great speech and made it clear that he is running for governor.
I almost stood up and cheered when he talked about abolishing the state income tax and estate taxes. (If only Ken Blackwell had made that same pledge.)

October 25, 2007
Chairman Bennett hosted an ORP conference call.
Mary Taylor discussed HB 166 and Gov Strickland's threatened veto.
HB 166 streamlines and uniforms the internal audit function.
Other topics included voter registration, judicial petition drives, absentee ballots, the national convention, and the 5th congressional district special primary election.

October 17, 2007
At the Clermont County Central Committee meeting, a number of topics were discussed including the fair booth, Veterans Parade, and absentee ballots. Debbie Siegroth and Ruth Ann Werner asked for poll workers. Several candidates gave updates on their campaigns and upcoming deadlines were announced. It was also a great pleasure to see my colleague Kay Reynolds from Scioto County.

October 16, 2007

Anthony Munoz was the keynote speaker for a Phil Heimlich fundraiser at the home of Bob and Marilyn Rhein in Indian Hill.
Mr. Munoz made the following comments: "Heimlich is passionate about people and about making this a community worth living in. He will stay true to that passion and stay true to his convictions, and those are the characteristics that I love about Phil Heimlich. It's obvious that he will do a great job as a congressman and that's why Dede and I took the opportunity to be here, because we believe in Phil Heimlich."
Several politicos attended including my friend and Northwest School Board candidate Dan Unger and his lovely wife, Jeanne.

October 11, 2007
Chip Gerhardt generously entertained a number of business, government, and politicos at his monthly gathering at McFadden's.
Toward the end of the evening, Kreg Allison, Carl Enslen, Michael Harlow, and I swapped ideas and strategies on a number of current events.

October 1, 2007
About 30 people attended the Union Twp (Clermont County) Central Committee meeting.
Commissioner, Mary Walker talked about the recent state audit.
Mary also passed out petitions for Central Committee and helped everyone to correctly fill them out.
The filing deadline is January 4, 2008
Trustee, Matt Beamer talked about his campaign for Trustee and his FOP and UT Police Assn. endorsement.
Municipal Judge, Tony Brock also briefly spoke about his campaign.
Debbie Siegroth discussed the need for poll workers for the November 6th election. Our three candidates from Union Township are Tony Brock (Municipal Court Judge), Matt Beamer (Trustee), and Ron Campbell (Fiscal Officer). Volunteers should contact Debbie at 528-0670 (home) or 675-1740 (cell).

Future Events
November 3, 2007
April Partin, sister of Eloise Hirschauer & Linda Fraley, has been diagnosed with a very aggressive malignant brain tumor. In order to try to fight this she has to take treatments.
