Issue 1
– This Judicial Retirement Age Constitutional Amendment increases the maximum
age for assuming elected or appointed judicial office from 70 to 75. This would
allow the ultra-liberal Justice Pfeifer to run for re-election. That alone is
enough for me to vote "NO."
State Issue 2 - Vote YES to
support taxpayers, reasonable reforms, and fairness.
The Ohio Republican Party has endorsed a “YES” vote.

Beckerisms
Obama
wants the rich to pay the same tax rates as everybody else. That works for me.
Reducing the six federal tax brackets down to one 10 percent flat tax for all
Americans would be a huge boost for the economy and would make Ronald Reagan
proud.
Obama wants the “rich” to pay their fair share. I couldn’t agree more. The top 10 percent
currently pay 70 percent of all income taxes. It seems to me that the top 10
percent should pay 10 percent of all income taxes. That seems fair.
Unfortunately, that's not what Obama had in mind. If I had it my way, we’d
scrap the entire income tax system, repeal the 16th
Amendment,
and institute a national sales tax of no more than 10 percent. (As an
alternative, I would also support the Fair Tax.)
Do
Members of Congress Pay Social Security?
“You may have read
that Members of Congress do not pay into Social Security. Well, that's a myth.”

House of Representatives
The 2012
Primary Election is 6 months away and only 4 months until early voting. I’ve
raised more than $23,000 and expanded my donor base to nearly 280
people in five different states! Donation size has ranged from $5 to
$1,000. All contributions have been from individuals only. You could donate for FREE! You may know that a
$50 per taxpayer dollar-for-dollar tax CREDIT (It is $100 on a joint
return.) is available every year. The “Ohio political contributions credit”
is on line 55 of your Ohio IT 1040. Simply claim it on your state of Ohio tax
return and get your money back. Contributions to candidates for the Ohio
legislature qualify for this credit. That is why you will be able to help me,
to help you, and have it cost you nothing. I’m Pro-Life, Pro-Gun, Pro-Limited

Past
Events
September
24, 2011
Roger
and Mary Baxter hosted a wine and cheese fundraising party on behalf of Ohioans
for Healthcare Freedom. About 20 people attended and they raised more than
$500.
September 22, 2011
Kevin DeWine hosted a conference call for SCC members. He covered several topics
including super Saturday events, call centers, Issues 2 and 3, mail campaign,
HB 194, congressional maps, March primary, legislative maps, campaign school,
and presidential and VP visits to Ohio. A Q&A followed.
September 21, 2011
About 100 people attended the Clermont County GOP meeting in Batavia. Several
special guests addressed the committee including Sharon Kennedy, George Brown,
and Jason Whalen. Chairman Rudd discussed several issues including the Lincoln
Day Dinner, sample ballots, potential primary dates, a future endorsement
meeting, and the presidential candidates. Several candidates and elected
officials also addressed the committee. I delivered my first stump speech for
State Representative.
September 20, 2011
The judicial screening committee met at Ohio GOP HQ in
Columbus to interview candidates for Ohio Supreme Court. Justices Cupp and
O'Donnell were the first to interview. I asked them the following: "I've
had a concern about the judiciary for several decades. As you know, the Supreme
Court is supreme over the lower courts only. Due to "judicial
review," it appears to me that they have effectively made themselves
supreme over the executive and legislative branches of government as well.
Please correct me if I'm wrong and help me to understand."
When Judge Kennedy interviewed, I asked her how and why she thinks she can
raise enough money to win.
The committee was very impressed with all three candidates. I moved that we
recommend all three of them for endorsement to the full committee. The motion
passed unanimously.
September 20, 2011
Nearly 20 people attended the Values Action Team (VAT) meeting in Columbus.
Topics discussed included the Heartbeat Bill, Marriage reform, programs for neglected children, Issue 2, and the merits of
a constitutional convention.
September 17, 2011
The Ohio GOP sponsored a campaign school in Columbus. Dave
Yost asked me if I was there to teach it. Chris McNulty
publically referred to me as "the great John Becker." (I’m not sure
what his coffee was spiked with.) My reason for attending is very simple: I
learn things. I meet new people. And the "hallway conversations" can
be very productive.
September 12, 2011
The following is a report from one of my SCC
colleagues:
About 300 people gathered at Bar 71 off Mason
Montgomery Rd. Monday evening, September 12th for the Republican Presidential
debate. CNN had picked Cincinnati to be one of its live audiences.
Approximately 20% were die hard rustic Ron Paul fans with many signs. The rest
of the room consisted of people who looked like me. Their signs were
anti-Obama, but I did not see one FOR any candidate except mine which simply
said CAIN. While sitting in a booth with the mother of the founder of the Cinci TP and visiting with her friend who stopped by, FOX19
news came over and asked if I would be willing to talk to them! The women
laughed at the thought of me being reluctant to talk and left. The 2-man crew
sat opposite me. I was in a red TP t-shirt. I basically talked about Herman
Cain being a true conservative on social, economic, and national security
issues. Then they filmed me checking off voting for him on a post-debate
ballot. Friends have verified that I was on the 10PM news, and were excited.
They said I came across determined and full of info. I had a lot of fun. (I
wish I had thought to say that I would love to see Cain debating Obama on the
issues. How could the MSM call him a racist? He is black!)
Here is my unsolicited 'take' regarding the debate and the candidates: It was a
Romney, Perry, Bachmann, Paul debate. Romney doesn't seem to realize that Romneycare was a bad idea, and his style is too vague to
hope he could possibly punch Obama on issues. Perry looked like he got his hand
caught in the cookie jar over his arrogant executive order on Gardasil.
Bachmann hit it out of the park. I am beginning to see her as presidential and
a commander-in-chief. Any woman who raised 5 children with her husband, then
took care of 23 foster children, has to be tough and organized. Paul is too
libertarian for me, especially after his negative vote on making it a felony
for taking a minor girl over a state line without her parents' permission for
an abortion. I think he voted NO 3 times! I agree we should not be in the
Balkans, Korea, or Libya. But Saddam did have WMD's, i.e. he used them on the
Kurds in n Iraq! And after years of teaching European history, including the
Crusades, I am very familiar with them being wars of self-defense starting in
1096. Since Islam has attacked Christianity since 638, I am astounded that Ron
Paul thinks 9/11 was our fault! He needs to familiarize himself with the fact
that Saddam Hussein helped Osama bin Laden financially to train Al Qaeda in the
Sudan. I hope he will be our next Secretary of the Treasury.
You have to admit, Herman Cain expressed a good idea when he said as president,
he would staff the EPA with its victims! And wouldn't
it be wonderful to have a capitalist running our country?
Santorum lost my respect years ago when he helped Christie T. Wittman win reelection as NJ governor after she had vetoed
the NJ legislature's ban on partial birth abortion at least twice after he
championed the ban on the U.S. Senate floor. Another example of his 'party over
principle' was his support of incumbent pro-abort Arlen Spector instead of
challenger pro-life Patrick Toomey in a Pennsylvania Republican primary for the
U.S. Senate.
Gingrich had his opportunity years ago to be a statesman. Where was he when the
House was within a few votes of defunding Planned Parenthood? Chasing an intern in the cloakroom. Where was he when a real
conservative, Doug Hoffman, was running in NY's 23rd special election a year
ago? Rooting for the liberal RINO, Dede Scozzafava, who had voted to raise taxes 92 times in the NY
General Assembly. What a hypocrite!
Huntsman? WHO expects any of us to get behind an
Obama appointee?
I am aware of the rumors that the establishment GOP do
not like Perry, i.e. Karl Rove. I am not sure if I do either. But I do not like
Rove and Romney is another Dole. PLEASE spare us.
