Prayers Needed
Adams County Chairman, Harty Wallingford, suffered a heart attack and is in
recovery. I know Harty to be a good Christian man and that he would appreciate being
added to prayer lists.
Please keep Danny Bubp in your prayers while he serves our country in Iraq.
Tina Meranda has been
diagnosed with stage
4 lung cancer and is also in need of our prayers.
Tina's husband Seth, has some good news and sent me the following: (He granted
me permission to include this in my newsletter.)
Thanks for the prayers. The surgeon said stage 4 but the oncologist staged it at
stage 3, therefore, the prayers are already working. Tina is over half way
through her treatment and doing great. She is still working as clerk, wife and
mother of our two sons Preston 9 and Austin 6 years old. Once again thank you.
Your friend,
Seth Meranda
Pray that our nation does not have to suffer an "Obamination."
"Ding dong the witch is dead!" Our nation will not have to suffer through a third term in office for
the "Clintonistas."
Obama Watch
B. Hussein Obama on national defense:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dl32Y7wDVDs
The National Journal rated
him as the most liberal US Senator. This is an amazing feat considering the
fact that US Senator
Bernie Sanders (Vermont) is an avowed socialist. (As a matter of fact,
although technically an independent, Sanders is the only Democrat that has the
courage to admit that he is a socialist.) The bottom line is that B. Hussein Obama is to
the left of an avowed socialist. What does that tell you?
This is my favorite video. It is almost five minutes and well worth watching all
the way through:

Why Conservatives Should Support McCain
The Philadelphia Inquirer published a stellar op-ed by former Senator Santorum
entitled, "Why Conservatives Should Support McCain." Here are some
excerpts:
Of all the issues confronting the United States today, none is more important
than our nation's security. Although these issues don't dominate our news as
they once did, we cannot forget that without a safe and secure country, all
other issues don't matter.
McCain is clearly the candidate with the capacity, judgment, experience and will
to confront America's enemies. He's served our country honorably - heroically -
in war. I served eight years with him on the Senate Armed Services Committee,
and I can assure you he knows our military. …
The most important social issue is life. …In the end, with the exception of
embryonic stem-cell funding, he [McCain] always voted for life and stood for the
culture of life. In short, he's been a reliable vote on life issues, which are
critical to conservatives. …
On judges, McCain has repeatedly made clear that he will, as his Web site
states, "only nominate judges who understand that their role is to
faithfully apply the law as written, not impose their opinions through judicial
fiat." Sounds good to me. …
Those conservatives who still question whether they can support McCain should
remember this: The next president will make more than 2,700 political
appointments, those who really set policy, across the bureaucracy of our
government. I, for one, will sleep better at 3 a.m. if Republicans are in the
cabinet and in White House positions that make so many critical decisions. The
idea of "Attorney General John Edwards" and "Energy Secretary Al
Gore" should cause some sleepless nights for Republicans or conservatives -
and those in a U.S. manufacturing sector now struggling to stay afloat.
Why Conservatives Should Not Support Bob Barr
For those of you still tempted to vote for Bob Barr, he has now embraced Barack
Obama's view that the Defense of Marriage Act should be repealed. Here is Barr's
statement reported in the Atlanta Journal Constitution: "Let me tell you, I
have made mistakes. …As I mentioned to you all last night, and I reiterate
here today, standing before you, looking you in the eye, the Defense of Marriage
Act, insofar as it provided the federal government a club to club down the
rights of law-abiding, American citizens, has been abused, misused and should be
repealed. And I will work to repeal that."

Reader Feedback
John: What is it with McCain and DeWine about drilling in Alaska? Do they
believe that crap about destroying the reindeer? George Bush looks so weak
going to Arab countries and begging for more of their oil. They have us by the
balls. WE NEED TO DRILL MORE OIL HERE AT HOME. And create jobs. Bob
Barr could siphon off enough votes to cost McCain the election. Who are these
guys listening to?
John, thanks for sending The Becker Report. I congratulate you on your comment
to former Senator DeWine on drilling in ANWR, but that's really only part of the
problem. Other reasons why gas is approaching $4.00 a gallon is the cheap dollar
caused by deficit spending on the War in Iraq, and the war itself as it
introduces Mid-East political instability into the mix. It's going to take years
to ramp up ANWR production even if we started tomorrow, but cutting spending and
scaling back on our interventionist foreign policy would help immediately.
That's what we should be focusing on, but I doubt if that will happen even with
Senator Obama in the White House come January.
John, about oil - It is unlimited in supply. The mechanism is well understood by
"Progressive" geologists that actually understand the meaning of the
term, "Science." Search references to "Eugene
Island".
The United States should be an oil exporter again, particularly to China. Take a
look at a globe and get a better assessment of oil tanker service from Alaska
to the Far East (China, Korea, and Manchuria). Our geography is more favorable
than the long sea route around India to the Sea of Japan.
It is nuts, and treasonous, to sequester the ANWR reserves. The Chinese have
enormous holdings in US Dollar denominated instruments and would be more than
pleased to buy from the United States as a more stable and honest broker of
energy resources; particularly petroleum.
John, great report as always. I loved your message to DeWine. Hopefully, McCain
won't get any "brilliant" ideas about putting him on the ticket. My
last hope is for a young and very conservative running mate. Everything else about
John McCain has been quite depressing.
